Biography

Chase Anderson is a young composer and multi-instrumentalist working out of Sacramento, California. In 2020, Chase earned his Associate’s Degree in Music from Sierra College before completing a Bachelor’s of Music in Theory/Composition at California State University, Sacramento. During his education he studied theory/musicianship and composition under Dr. Scott Perkins, Dr. Josiah Catalan, Dr. Shuying Li, Dr. Sarah Wald, and Dr. Stave-Viemeister. A pianist of fifteen years, he has studied under Shaun Manley, Dr. Stave-Viemeister, and Kirsten Smith.

Chase’s compositions include works for solo/duo piano, instrument + FM, orchestra, electronics, chamber group, wind band, as well as popular music. He has premiered performances with groups such as Hub New Music, CityWater and Kaleidoscope.

His current work includes a long-running series titled Petal Music, works for string and symphony orchestra, as well as popular and electronic music.

Commissions

Chase is currently accepting commissions for all projects. Please use the contact form below for inquiries!

Lessons (Remote or in person)

Chase offers private lessons in piano, theory/composition, and musicianship in the Sacramento area.

Tutoring (Remote or in person)

In addition to lessons, Chase can also serve as a tutor for your music student. Primary subjects include include piano studies, composition, theory, musicianship, and appreciation.
